Day out to The Volta Region..- Funny Funny Funny!

Family day out had a number of places to visit:

Volta Dam and Bridge , One of the major sources of electricity  for Ghana using the water in the dam.  Beautiful place, and very educational! Gets a Thumb Up!! The dam was constructed under Kwame Nkrumahs government around 1964.  It supplies over 50% over Ghana's electricity and even neighboring country's also.  The Volta lake has some beautiful views, it's also the largest lake by water volume in the whole world!!  

Tourist area marketing is quite poor in Ghana.... I mean how can you have an empty souvenir shop! ... we asked...

We then visited a brand new top rated hotel called the Senchi Hotel.  Our relative Captain Atta did all the paving in the grounds of the hotel so wanted to show us his teams handy work.. Impressive Job.  The Hotel is located right along side the Volta lake so the scenery is stunning. 

 (minimum $250 per night- $800) Very expensive for Ghana hotels but the Hotel is  very stylish..

Sajuna Beach Club

Went swimming , well dad and children.  I sat and watched, don't seem to have picts!.  However we went on to do their boat trip down the Volta river .  Funny Funny Funny... Petrol ran out halfway on the trip! we were stuck in the middle of the biggest lake in the world and the night was looming  whilst we were waiting for another boat to bring us petrol!! Drama kicked off with some others who were angry with the captain on the boat we weren't best pleased!
